Case Study: Ironman Asia Pacific achieves flexible remote access and reliable race-day networking with Cisco Meraki

A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Preview of the Ironman Asia Pacific Case Study

Providing flexibility and network access for remote workforce

Ironman Asia Pacific needed reliable, easy-to-manage network connectivity for staff working from four offices, home and on-site at events across the region. To support registration, media, vendors and back‑office operations during large, mobile race productions, Ironman Asia Pacific turned to Cisco Meraki and deployed MR wireless access points, MS switches and MX security appliances.

Cisco Meraki’s cloud‑managed MR, MS and MX solution — including PoE MS switches, MX80/MX60 appliances and an “event in a box” with 30 APs and an MX80 — provided auto‑provisioned site‑to‑site VPN, mesh redundancy, traffic shaping and centralized dashboard control. The result: set‑up time at events was halved, Meraki hardware now runs in 4 offices and at nearly 20 races, IT travel and on‑site configuration were greatly reduced, and staff can remotely manage SSIDs, bandwidth policies and location analytics to optimize vendor placement and event operations.
