Case Study: Bossa Nova protects IT and $100K robotic assets with Cisco Meraki MT sensors

A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Preview of the Bossa Nova Case Study

Protecting IT & product assets with cloud-managed environmental sensors

Bossa Nova, a robotics developer serving global retailers (350+ stores), needed a reliable way to protect its IT infrastructure and valuable robotics lab equipment from temperature, humidity and water‑related risks—especially with much of its IT staff working remotely. To solve this, Bossa Nova turned to Cisco Meraki for an environmental monitoring solution, leveraging cloud‑managed MT sensors to extend its existing Meraki networking and security deployment.

Cisco Meraki deployed MT10 temperature/humidity and MT12 water‑leak sensors tied into the Meraki dashboard so IT staff can monitor conditions and receive alerts remotely. In the first months the Meraki MT sensors helped avoid at least two heat‑induced switch failures—preventing more than $30,000 in hardware replacement costs—and reduced the risk of losing robots worth up to $100,000 each, improving uptime and protecting critical R&D and production assets.
