Case Study: BQ achieves streamlined global network management and rapid expansion with Cisco Meraki

A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Preview of the BQ Case Study

Optimizing installation practices and network management supports rapid growth

BQ is a leading European technology company with over 1,200 employees, offices in Europe and Asia, and products sold in more than 50 countries. Facing rapid global expansion and a need to connect distributed teams while keeping management simple, BQ sought a flexible, centrally managed network that could be easily customized to reflect its DIY and open-source ethos. BQ selected Cisco Meraki, leveraging its cloud-based Dashboard and Security & SD-WAN, Switching, and Wireless LAN products to meet these needs.

Cisco Meraki deployed MX Security Appliances, Meraki Switches and Access Points and the centralized Meraki Dashboard to provide unified, remote management, automatic site-to-site VPN, per-client bandwidth limits, traffic shaping and built‑in security (malware, IDS/IPS, content filtering). The result: new offices are deployed rapidly from a single panel, distributed sites share resources securely via self‑healing VPN, IT can enforce policies or block users “in a matter of clicks,” and BQ gains granular control (15 SSIDs per network, per-port 802.1X, group policies) to support continued international growth.
