Law firm deploys Meraki network for 100 employees in hours—with no onsite IT team

Davidoff Malito & Hutcher LLP, a multidiscipline full-service law firm with roughly 100 employees, needed a wireless solution but had delayed deployment for five years due to security and cost concerns. The firm required a fully isolated guest network (Internet-only) separate from a secure employee network with LAN access, without doubling access points or adding a second Internet connection. Working with consultant Kraft Kennedy, Davidoff turned to Cisco Meraki’s Wireless LAN solution to address these constraints.

Cisco Meraki deployed dual‑radio Meraki access points managed via the Meraki Cloud Controller and web dashboard, enabling rapid, remote provisioning with no on‑site IT required. The network was up in a couple of hours, covers the entire floor despite thick walls, and delivers a secure employee SSID plus an Internet‑only guest SSID; today over 30 guest users connect at peak and about 100 employees use the private network. The Meraki solution also let a single on‑site admin (and even an attorney at the remote office) install APs easily, improving productivity for staff such as the receptionist and eliminating prior security/cost tradeoffs.
