A Cisco Meraki Case Study
Interface Systems, a leading North American provider of IP-based managed physical security and managed network services (750+ employees, monitoring over 1 million devices), was hired by a major U.S. retail chain to deliver end-to-end network control, dual WAN redundancy and wireless LAN at thousands of stores. To meet the retail chain’s requirement for rapid, low-disruption wireless deployment, Interface Systems selected Cisco Meraki cloud-managed wireless access points for their controllerless, plug-and-play design.
Using Cisco Meraki APs, Interface Systems deployed hundreds of units across 100 proof-of-concept stores in just two weeks with an average store downtime of only 8 minutes, won the POC, and completed a national refresh in under a year (peaking at 50 stores per day). The Cisco Meraki solution — fully PCI compliant and managed from a single dashboard — now supports 17,000+ APs, enabled SIP over Wi‑Fi, simplified licensing and flat-rate per-store billing, and reduced the retailer’s administrative costs while unlocking analytics (CMX) and beacon-based capabilities.
