Increasing patient satisfaction through high performance Wi-Fi service

Montefiore Medical Center, a large university hospital network in the Bronx, faced growing demand from patients and guests for reliable wireless access across its three main divisions. To address that need, the hospital and its MSP Inspire WiFi selected Cisco Meraki’s cloud‑managed Wireless LAN and Campus Edge solutions, deploying Meraki access points to bring Wi‑Fi to patient and guest areas.

Inspire WiFi deployed over 150 Cisco Meraki 802.11n APs and uses the Meraki cloud platform for centralized, multi‑site management, monitoring, and support across the Moses Division, Jack D. Weiler Hospital, and Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center. The rollout delivered high‑speed Wi‑Fi in patient rooms, waiting areas, and courtyards, now serving over 8,500 distinct users who transfer more than 1.6 TB per month, increasing patient satisfaction and simplifying ongoing network operations.
