A Cisco Meraki Case Study
LINKBYNET, a global IT facilities management and hosting company with ~410 employees across five locations, faced fragmented Wi‑Fi, poor coverage, little reporting visibility and no affordable controller-based management while rolling out a BYOD initiative. After evaluating options, LINKBYNET selected Cisco Meraki Wireless LAN for a cloud-managed, simple-to-administer solution to improve coverage, security and visitor management.
Cisco Meraki deployed 15 cloud‑managed APs (one outdoor) and six Meraki switches, with the network preconfigured in the Meraki dashboard so devices auto-provisioned on first connection; hardware arrived within three days and configuration took minutes (physical installation ~15 minutes). The Meraki solution delivered segmented SSIDs (802.1X for employees, isolated guest logins, WPA2‑PSK for a hosted partner), Layer‑7 visibility, automated alerts and monthly reports, faster rollouts to other offices (e.g., Montreal) and cost savings versus traditional controller-based approaches.
