A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Improving the guest experience and boosting social media presence through Wi-Fi

Bluegr Hotels & Resorts, a luxury boutique hotel group in Greece, faced an unstable, hard‑to‑manage wireless network at its Life Gallery Athens property that hindered guest and corporate connectivity and had to be scalable without on‑site IT staff. To address this, IT Manager Vasilis Barbas chose Cisco Meraki Wireless LAN—deploying Meraki access points and the cloud‑based management platform to unify guest, employee, and group Wi‑Fi.

Cisco Meraki installed indoor and outdoor APs in half a day and configured the network via the Meraki dashboard, enabling Facebook Wi‑Fi login, SSID scheduling (about 10 of 15 SSIDs in use), per‑client bandwidth limits, and Layer‑7 traffic shaping. The result: reliable coverage with no signal or availability issues, improved guest and employee experiences, reduced management overhead through remote troubleshooting and alerts, and ongoing protection and enhancements via Meraki’s support and automated firmware/feature updates.
