Improving the customer and patient experience with seamless Wi-Fi connectivity

Visionworks, a leading U.S. eye‑care and retail provider with 740 retail and clinical locations in 40 states, needed to modernize networking and security to support a new cloud‑based point‑of‑sale, meet customer expectations for reliable in‑store Wi‑Fi, and reduce on‑site IT maintenance—needs that were accelerated by pandemic disruptions. To address this, Visionworks selected Cisco Meraki and its cloud‑managed portfolio (Meraki Dashboard, MR wireless access points, MS switches, and MV smart cameras).

Cisco Meraki deployed MR access points, MS switches, MV smart cameras and the Meraki Dashboard across Visionworks stores, enabling tablet‑based POS mobility, guest Wi‑Fi, and remote device management. The Meraki solution delivered 24/7 visibility and remote troubleshooting (including packet captures), eliminated the need for on‑site technician visits, improved in‑store Wi‑Fi and security, reduced operational costs, and freed the IT team to focus on other initiatives across all 740 locations.
