A Cisco Meraki Case Study
Miami-Dade Public Library System, which serves over six million visitors across 50 branches, needed a robust, easy-to-manage network so a two-person IT team could deliver personalized services and analytics at each location. After evaluating options they selected Cisco Meraki and deployed Meraki MR access points, Meraki MS switches and Meraki MV security cameras to provide reliable Wi‑Fi, security, and built-in analytics.
Using the Cisco Meraki cloud-managed dashboard the team pre-configured and remotely manages devices (typically 1–15 MR APs, 1–20 MS switches and 1–74 MV cameras per location), eliminated on-site NVR maintenance, and improved wireless access for patrons and roughly 1,000 library devices. The result: faster deployments, fewer site visits, simplified camera management, and centralized analytics that help Library Administration tailor services and justify budget across all 50 branches serving 6 million visitors.
