Case Study: Actic achieves centralized network visibility and rapid multi-site expansion with Cisco Meraki

A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Preview of the Actic Case Study

Improving network visibility while rapidly opening new locations

Actic, a Swedish fitness chain with clubs in four countries, faced the challenge of giving a small IT team the visibility, security, and scalability needed to support rapid expansion and tight roll‑out deadlines. To standardize and modernize networking across more than 100 locations, CIO Marten Hoffman chose Cisco Meraki’s cloud‑managed solution—deploying MR wireless, MS switches, MX security & SD‑WAN and Systems Manager to replace legacy point‑of‑sale lines and fragmented infrastructure.

Cisco Meraki implemented centralized management via the Meraki dashboard, tagging, and radio/SSID configuration, enabling remote troubleshooting and fast provisioning (120 sites in Sweden/Norway under a tight deadline, later expanding wireless across ~180 sites). The deployment brought measurable outcomes: far greater network and hardware visibility, streamlined administration, ~150 iPads managed with Systems Manager (including a recovered stolen device via geofencing), and scalable, secure operations that make future rollouts and analytics-driven decisions much easier.
