A Cisco Meraki Case Study
MAXI Autohöfe, the largest private operator of autobahn service stations in Germany, needed reliable, centrally manageable guest Wi‑Fi and secure branch networking across remote sites. Consumer‑grade access points and heavy video usage were causing bandwidth saturation and poor performance, while a lean IT team required remote management, traffic shaping and PCI‑compliant controls — leading them to adopt Cisco Meraki (Security & SD‑WAN, Switching, Wireless WAN, Guest WiFi).
Cisco Meraki was deployed across 11 MAXI Autohöfe locations, providing plug‑and‑play APs, cloud‑based Meraki Dashboard for centralized management, traffic shaping, port‑level security, virtual stacking and automated PCI reporting. The solution supports about 4,200 clients weekly, cut on‑site troubleshooting, enabled a paid higher‑speed option, and boosted brand visibility via Facebook Wi‑Fi — generating nearly 27,000 check‑ins and over 18,000 likes in just over a year.
