Case Study: De Nassau achieves secure, campus-wide WiFi and simplified network management with Cisco Meraki

A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Preview of the De Nassau Case Study

How DeNassau was able to install a network, where one hadn't existed, in minutes

De Nassau, a secondary school in Breda with over 1,600 students and 200 staff, needed to build a wireless network from scratch that met strict education-centric security standards and provided seamless roaming between two separate buildings. The school chose Cisco Meraki, deploying Meraki access points and the cloud-managed Meraki dashboard to centralize control and meet security and mobility requirements.

Cisco Meraki implemented cloud-managed Meraki APs with the dashboard, Layer 7 firewall and traffic-shaping per SSID/client, dual‑band band steering, and a custom branded splash page; configuration took about 15 minutes plus roughly 5 minutes per AP to install. As a result, interactive whiteboards and modern media devices are online, a tablet pilot launched in two classes, over 1,500 devices move hundreds of gigabytes per month, and Meraki’s remote troubleshooting and alerts let admins proactively monitor and resolve issues.
