A Cisco Meraki Case Study
De Kade campus Het Anker, a six-unit learning and support organisation for people with autism in the Brugge region of Belgium, faced the challenge of managing distributed sites with minimal on‑site equipment and no wireless controller. To simplify operations and centralise control for just 1–2 IT staff, they chose Cisco Meraki and deployed Meraki APs, an MX security appliance, and Meraki Mobility Device Management.
Cisco Meraki’s cloud‑based dashboard, integrated MDM, and built‑in WIDS/WIPS enabled a fast, one‑day deployment of APs and an MX, with SSID separation, VLAN routing, firewall rules, SNORT IDS/IPS and easy VPN configuration. The result: resolved speed and bottleneck issues, reliable device access for learning, rapid troubleshooting and configuration changes, role‑based admin access, automatic firmware updates, and the ability to add devices or new sites in minutes — all managed centrally via Cisco Meraki.
