A Cisco Meraki Case Study
D4 Business Village Luzern, the largest business centre in central Switzerland with over 100 companies and about 2,000 employees, faced declining throughput, poor scalability, and a cumbersome paper-based guest access process as device and user counts grew. To address these challenges they chose Cisco Meraki’s cloud‑managed networking solution, including indoor/outdoor 802.11ac access points, Meraki switches and the Meraki dashboard, for a highly secure, easily scalable network that fits their modern, service-oriented brand.
Cisco Meraki deployed APs and virtually stackable switches across the site and configured three SSIDs with Meraki-hosted branded splash pages, traffic‑shaping rules to throttle guest bandwidth, location heatmaps, and per-port controls — all in a three‑month rollout. The result: simple branded login for guests, prioritized business traffic (preventing guests from stalling bandwidth), real‑time monitoring and heatmaps to balance peak loads (e.g., lunchtime restaurant/outdoor use), flexible PoE and port scheduling, and reliable 24/7 service that significantly improved network performance and manageability for D4 Business Village Luzern.
