Gemeente Weert - Customer Case Study

Gemeente Weert, a Dutch municipality of 45,000 inhabitants, needed to blanket the city with secure, reliable WiFi that would work both indoors and outdoors and support thousands of daily, highly dense and dynamic users. To meet that challenge they selected Cisco Meraki, using Mobility Device Management and Wireless LAN solutions to provide centralized control, built‑in security, and scalable, customizable SSIDs.

Cisco Meraki deployed 55 indoor and outdoor access points within two months, using centralized management, segmented SSIDs with splash pages, L7 traffic shaping, WIDS/WIPS security, Auto RF optimization and built‑in MDM. The network now handles about 5,000 users daily transferring hundreds of gigabytes per month, provides event location analytics, supports public announcements and paid access where needed, and has helped boost tourism and local services — all delivered through Cisco Meraki’s managed platform.
