Avenues: The World School, a pre-K through 12 NYC institution expanding into a global system, needed reliable, scalable Wi‑Fi and simple management to support a technology‑forward curriculum with over 3,000 devices. Facing a lean IT team and CIPA content‑filtering requirements, Avenues selected Cisco Meraki for Mobility Device Management, Security & SD‑WAN, Switching and Wireless LAN to deliver BYOD, guest WiFi and high‑density Wi‑Fi solutions.

Cisco Meraki deployed 185 cloud‑managed APs, MS switches and MX security appliances plus Systems Manager to provision 1:1 devices, WPA2‑encrypted student/staff networks and guest SSIDs. The Meraki cloud dashboard let staff configure and scale sites in minutes, while integrated content filtering and Layer‑7 traffic shaping preserved bandwidth, stopped BitTorrent abuse, eliminated the need for a full‑time network administrator and improved visibility for digital citizenship initiatives.
