A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Preview of the Make-A-Wish Case Study

Flexible security and cloud solutions that meet each chapters’ individual needs

Make-A-Wish is a national nonprofit that grants wishes for children with life‑threatening conditions and relies on fast, secure networks across dozens of locations. Facing a patchwork of local networking gear, limited IT staff, and growing governance and security requirements, Make‑A‑Wish turned to Cisco Meraki for cloud‑managed networking and Mobility Device Management—deploying Meraki access points, switches, security appliances, and Systems Manager to standardize and secure each chapter.

Cisco Meraki implemented a full Meraki stack (MX security appliances, MS switches, MR access points), Auto VPN site‑to‑site connectivity, and cloud dashboard templates so hardware can be preconfigured and managed centrally. The result is a single managed network supporting 62 chapters (about 110 physical locations), remote troubleshooting and rapid policy changes, “99%” of former wireless errors resolved, faster bandwidth controls and reduced downtime, and measurable time and cost savings for the Make‑A‑Wish IT team.
