EUC Lillebælt - Customer Case Study

EUC Lillebaelt, a multi-discipline vocational and secondary education provider spread across five campuses in Denmark, was running an aging 802.11g wireless network that was difficult for its four-person IT team to manage while nearly 1,200 mobile devices connected daily. The school needed an 802.11ac upgrade and Active Directory–backed captive-portal authentication, and after evaluating options EUC Lillebaelt selected Cisco Meraki’s cloud-managed MR — Wireless LAN solution and tested a Meraki MR34 access point.

Cisco Meraki deployed 100 MR34 802.11ac APs and the Meraki Dashboard enabled the small IT team to configure SSIDs (three active today, up to 15 supported), enforce AD captive-portal login, apply traffic shaping and Layer 3 firewall rules, and use built‑in security scanning and troubleshooting. The deployment was completed by one staff member in three days, delivering reliable coverage for ~1,200 devices, fewer support tickets, positive user feedback, near‑zero daily administration, faster problem resolution, and cost savings from no longer needing external consultants.
