Case Study: Dun Laoghaire Rathdown LexIcon Library achieves reliable, centrally managed Wi‑Fi and data-driven insights with Cisco Meraki

A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Preview of the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown LexIcon Library Case Study

Enhancing the customer experience through improved wireless network analytics

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown LexIcon Library, the centerpiece public library in Dublin, was experiencing persistent poor Internet connectivity and an ad hoc, multi-vendor network that strained the IT team. Network Manager Tom Mullin trialed and then adopted Cisco Meraki—using Meraki access points, UTM security appliances and the Meraki Dashboard—for a centrally managed, remotely configurable solution.

Cisco Meraki deployed indoor and outdoor APs, a UTM appliance with content filtering and AMP, VLAN-based group policies, and customizable splash pages for library-card or social logins; the install took only a few weeks. Since the Meraki deployment customers have logged no complaints, the 100-seat theatre now supports hundreds of users, guest SSIDs can be provisioned in seconds for hourly bookings, and Meraki Dashboard analytics deliver measurable insights (user counts, dwell time, heat maps) that inform data-driven decisions while licensing and updates future‑proof the network.
