Enabling students and teachers with a modernized campus network

YCK2 (Yu Chun Keung Memorial College No. 2) is a bilingual school in Hong Kong serving about 240 students that needed a simple, centralised and reliable network without a full‑time IT admin. Tasked with network management while teaching, the school’s IT teacher required stable wireless coverage, secure access and easy device management. Cisco Meraki’s full‑stack solution (MR42 access points, MS switches, MX security appliance and Systems Manager) was evaluated to meet those needs.

Cisco Meraki deployed campus‑wide MR42 access points, MS switches, an MX security appliance and Systems Manager, all managed through the Meraki Dashboard; the entire network and devices were configured in less than a few hours. The Meraki solution allowed the teacher to manage the network without third‑party help, control separate VLANs for staff and students, filter content and centrally manage 200+ iPads, with no school‑wide outages reported since deployment—enabling reliable digital STEAM learning and improved classroom experiences.
