Case Study: Archipelago International achieves scalable, cloud-managed Wi-Fi and improved uptime with Cisco Meraki

A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Preview of the Archipelago International Case Study

Enabling remote network management for multi-site, multi-country hotel group

Archipelago International, the management company for brands like Aston, Alana, Harper and Favehotel operating 125 hotels across Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia, needed reliable, scalable wireless and wired networking to support more than 250,000 guest connections per week and a rapidly expanding estate. They chose Cisco Meraki (Meraki MR wireless APs, MS switches, MX security devices and the Meraki dashboard) to standardize on a cloud-managed platform that could simplify operations and improve uptime in challenging local ISP conditions.

Cisco Meraki’s cloud dashboard and appliances enabled centralized monitoring, remote troubleshooting and automated management across thousands of access points, dramatically reducing on-site visits (previously required for two‑thirds of issues) and saving operational labor. The MX security appliances’ smart load balancing increased WAN uptime, granular reports gave concrete downtime data to ISPs to improve SLAs, and application fingerprinting let Archipelago control bandwidth abuse — together allowing the team to manage hundreds of sites easily and deliver more reliable guest connectivity.
