Mon Motors Group, one of the largest automotive dealer groups in South Wales and the West of England, faced unreliable wireless, intermittent internet and the complexity of managing many distributed sites with a two-person IT team. To solve this, Group IT Manager Stuart Holcombe trialed Cisco Meraki’s MR wireless access points and Systems Manager (EMM), seeking a reliable, fast, and remotely manageable solution that could be rolled out with minimal disruption.

Cisco Meraki APs were deployed via PoE and managed through the cloud Meraki Dashboard, with branded guest access, up to 15 configurable SSIDs, built‑in analytics and alerts, and Systems Manager enrolled on about 180 mobile devices. The result was markedly improved reliability and visibility, faster site rollouts (longest site a few hours), reduced need for on‑site visits, better employee and customer experiences, and tangible operational gains after a one‑week trial that prompted full deployment.
