A Cisco Meraki Case Study
EDUCAR, the state-owned company of Argentina’s Ministry of Education, led the National School Connectivity Plan to bring reliable WiFi and digital tools to the country’s public schools. Facing a fragmented, province-by-province network landscape, EDUCAR required centralized, scalable monitoring, security, and fault management to connect millions of students; after a procurement process they selected Cisco Meraki’s cloud-managed networking (access points, switches, MX security appliances and the Meraki Dashboard) for its cloud control and open APIs.
Cisco Meraki was deployed across approximately 50,000 educational units with 18,700 networks configured on the Meraki Dashboard and about 148,700 devices active nationwide, enabling centralized, real-time monitoring via EDUCAR’s CIMTE, remote troubleshooting and automated provisioning. The Meraki solution improved operational visibility and security, reduced on-site intervention and operational costs through tools like cable testing and remote resets, and supported the goal of providing WiFi access to the nation’s public school students.
