Case Study: United Nations International School of Hanoi achieves reliable campus-wide connectivity and simplified network management with Cisco Meraki

A Cisco Meraki Case Study

Preview of the United Nations International School of Hanoi Case Study

Delivering reliable connectivity for thousands of devices across large campus

The United Nations International School of Hanoi (UNIS Hanoi), a co-educational English-language school with 1,100+ students and 300+ staff, faced an unreliable, non-uniform network across a large distributed campus. Aging switches and mixed hardware made troubleshooting slow and provided little visibility into where and why devices were failing. UNIS Hanoi selected Cisco Meraki — using the cloud-managed Meraki dashboard with MR access points and MS switches — to modernize and simplify network management.

Cisco Meraki deployed 130+ MR42/MR52/MR74 access points and 20+ MS225/MS425 switches, pre-staged via the Meraki dashboard to speed installation, add 10 GbE uplinks, and enable granular controls (bandwidth throttling, group policies, port scheduling). The result: more than 1,500 users and 3,000 devices connect weekly with dramatically fewer network issues, faster deployments, improved visibility (device location/signal and topology), and responsive 24/7 Meraki support — measurably reducing troubleshooting time and improving the campus user experience.
