Century Care Management, a Cary, North Carolina–based skilled nursing management company that runs eight nursing homes, needed to replace limited consumer-grade access points and provide HIPAA‑compliant wireless for staff, residents, visiting clinicians and guests while keeping management overhead low. To meet those needs they selected Cisco Meraki’s cloud‑managed Wireless LAN (75 MR14 dual‑radio 802.11n APs and the Meraki dashboard) for a simple, centrally managed, secure solution.

Cisco Meraki and reseller Eproach deployed 75 MR14 APs across the eight facilities and headquarters, using the Meraki dashboard to centrally manage networks, create a WPA2 staff SSID for seamless roaming and per‑facility guest SSIDs with Meraki‑hosted splash pages and firewall segmentation. The deployment delivered secure, HIPAA‑compliant access, minimized VPN load by routing guest traffic directly to the internet, required little ongoing IT effort, produced no downtime, and saved time and money while enabling better access for caregivers, visiting doctors and residents.
