Congres Hotel Van Der Valk Mons - Customer Case Study

Congres Hotel Van Der Valk Mons, a centrally located hotel in Mons, Belgium, needed reliable, future-proof wireless and robust network security for guests and staff despite having no on-site IT team. Cisco Meraki was chosen, using MR wireless LAN access points and an MX security/SD‑WAN appliance (MX80 UTM), to provide blanket Wi‑Fi coverage and centralized cloud management.

Cisco Meraki deployed nearly 70 APs across five floors and an MX80 UTM with a one-day configuration, implementing a single guest SSID on a separate VLAN, isolated employee networks, per-client bandwidth limits, Layer 7 firewall rules, and automatic RF optimization. The solution lets the hotel remotely monitor and update the network, supports over 1,000 users weekly with reliable connectivity, and delivers automatic firmware updates and easy scalability at no additional cost.
