ClueCon - Customer Case Study

ClueCon, an annual three-day conference for open source telephony developers attended by 200+ highly technical participants (each with multiple devices), needed a zero‑downtime wireless connection after repeated failures at prior events. The event coordinator engaged Cisco Meraki to deliver a High‑Density Wi‑Fi/Wireless LAN solution using four MR14 dual‑radio access points and the Meraki cloud dashboard to handle the ballroom’s heavy, device-dense usage.

Cisco Meraki preplanned the deployment (floor plan upload, AP configuration and rate‑limits), then implemented NAT mode with static IPs, channel spreading and live monitoring via the Meraki Dashboard and WiFi Stumbler. The Meraki setup supported 246 unique client devices, moved 34.6 GB down and 8.76 GB up with no downtime, kept overall load at about 6 Mbps (within the venue’s 8 Mbps backhaul) and earned strong attendee and organizer praise.
