A Cisco Meraki Case Study
The International School Carinthia (ISC) in Velden, Austria needed a future-ready network to support a technology-forward campus of more than 380 students (450 network users) and a BYOD environment with over 800 connected devices. The school was experiencing dropped Wi‑Fi, high IT service costs, and limited visibility and flexibility under its legacy infrastructure, so ISC turned to Cisco Meraki and its cloud-managed stack (Meraki dashboard, MR wireless LAN, MS switching, MX security and SD‑WAN).
Cisco Meraki implemented a cloud-managed Meraki solution—30 MR access points, three MS switches and two MX SD‑WAN appliances—giving the IT team centralized, remote visibility and automated management. The deployment delivered reliable bandwidth for 800+ devices, smarter traffic prioritization, a drastic reduction in reactive troubleshooting and service tickets, and lower on‑site engineering costs, enabling ISC to maintain secure, flexible BYOD support and focus on teaching.
