Bollebygds Kommun, a fast‑growing municipality east of Gothenburg, faced the challenge of replacing seven‑year‑old networking equipment so a two‑person IT team could gain better control and visibility across more than 25 sites serving about 2,000 users. After evaluating options, the municipality selected Cisco Meraki cloud‑managed products — including MR access points, MS switches, MX security/SD‑WAN appliances and Systems Manager — to future‑proof their infrastructure.

Cisco Meraki deployed a full Meraki stack with two MX appliances (one in spare), site‑to‑site VPN, multi‑SSID Wi‑Fi with scheduling, Advanced Malware Protection and Enterprise Mobility Management. The result was lower operational costs, greatly improved visibility and security, reliable outdoor Wi‑Fi (fewer storm‑related outages), and simpler device and network management — enabling stable, scalable connectivity across all 25+ sites for roughly 2,000 users.
