Auto VPN enables quick, secure connectivity between branches for accounting firm

Cohen & Company, a regional accounting firm with six distributed sites, faced an end-of-life, controller-based wireless environment, intermittent wireless instability, and no intrusion detection—challenges that threatened reliability during mission-critical periods like tax season. They turned to Cisco Meraki for a modern, cloud-managed solution using Meraki MR access points, MX security appliances, and MDM to replace the legacy system and gain centralized management and security.

Cisco Meraki deployed MX appliances (including an MX400 in the datacenter and MX60/80/100 models at offices), MR APs, and cloud-based configuration so sites auto-provisioned and nontechnical staff could plug-and-play. The vendor’s Auto VPN enabled secure site-to-site connectivity in two clicks, integrated Sourcefire IDS/IPS and content filtering improved security and traffic shaping prioritized mission-critical apps, and automatic MPLS-to-VPN failover kept voice calls and services uninterrupted—delivering rock‑solid reliability across all sites during peak season.
