Individual Restaurant Company (IRC), a UK restaurant group with over 50 sites, needed a more reliable wireless and IT platform to support mobile EPOS iPads, improve on‑site operations, and enable new customer services. After a pilot addressing roaming and coverage issues, IRC chose Cisco Meraki for cloud‑managed wireless, SD‑WAN, switches and endpoint management to standardise networking across its estate.

Cisco Meraki deployed MR access points, MX64/65 security appliances with Advanced Security, Meraki switches and Systems Manager, giving IRC a single dashboard, fast site rollouts and SD‑WAN bandwidth prioritisation. The rollout expanded to 50+ restaurants in about eight months (deploying 5–6 sites a day), enabled terrace and overflow connectivity via outdoor AP mesh, and drove business results including a 75,000‑member lift in the loyalty program, fuller bookings and reduced network costs through features like SSID scheduling.
