SMART Watering Systems (SWS), an Ontario-based IoT water-management company, helps businesses and municipalities conserve water and cut costs. Facing rising municipal rates, aging infrastructure and unreliable radio-based communications, SWS struggled to get real-time consumption data, diagnose irrigation problems and manage seasonal device plans efficiently.

By deploying Cisco Jasper’s Control Center with remote sensors and weather stations, SWS automated monitoring and device management, enabling quick activation/deactivation of communication plans and remote diagnostics. The results include more than 79 million gallons (300 million liters) saved over four years, an estimated 75% reduction in staffing for device management (from about 6–10 people to two), faster responses, lower operating costs and rapid scalability.
