KPIT Technologies - Customer Case Study

KPIT Technologies, a global IT & Engineering Products and Services Organisation based in Pune, India, needed to build next‑generation infrastructure to support growing development and test workloads and to augment its Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Virtual Server Infrastructure (VSI). Already a large Cisco UCS and vBlock customer with more than 2,500 cores and 50 TB of memory in production, KPIT engaged Cisco HyperFlex to re-evaluate its infrastructure strategy and transition to a hyperconverged architecture that could deliver cloud‑scale economics on premise.

Cisco HyperFlex Systems were deployed to provide simple, integrated operations, automated bare‑metal and VM setup, one‑button cluster expansion, and independent CPU/storage scaling via the HX Data Platform, while integrating with existing tools like UCS, Enterprise Cloud Suite and ACI. The Cisco HyperFlex deployment gave KPIT an agile, efficient, enterprise‑class HCI platform for VDI, VSI and dev/test environments, eliminated management silos, enabled centralized orchestration through UCS Director and IaaS‑style operations, and supported KPIT’s existing >2,500‑core/50 TB footprint with on‑demand scaling.
