A Maryland-based Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) sought to improve its patient experience and health outcomes while reducing costs. The challenge was to provide members with easier access to care outside of the emergency room, close gaps in HEDIS measures, and differentiate themselves in the market. To address this, they partnered with CirrusMD for a virtual care solution.

CirrusMD implemented a text-first, on-demand platform that gave members secure access to a physician within seconds from any device. The solution resolved 91.6% of encounters on the platform and successfully directed 93.2% of necessary in-person referrals away from the ER. This led to highly engaged members, with 93.4% satisfaction, and made 88.1% of patients more likely to recommend the MCO, demonstrating the significant impact of the CirrusMD service.
