Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD), Alberta’s largest district with 105 schools, ~60,000 users and a 70-person IT team, needed a more user-friendly, mobile-capable help desk than their aging BMC Remedy system. They required better monitoring and reporting to plan staffing around seasonal peaks, and—benefiting from special Microsoft pricing—chose to move to System Center Service Manager while addressing its UI gaps.
CCSD deployed SCSM together with Cireson apps (with Cireson Services managing the rollout), starting fresh and completing the transition in under 30 days. The familiar, intuitive interface and web-based Analyst Portal gave technicians mobile access and faster adoption, while Cireson dashboards now provide workload and performance metrics for better staffing and service planning—resulting in improved customer experience and operational insight.
