Backtrace.io, a New York-based software company founded in 2010, needed better visibility into real-time product usage, performance bottlenecks, and latency distributions across a growing infrastructure. Circonus provided an API-driven monitoring solution with flexible checks, shared dashboards, and libcircmetrics integration, allowing Backtrace.io to stream real-time analytics from its object store in about half a day of work. With Circonus, the team built reproducible alerting and integrated monitoring into custom parts of their stack, gaining real-time visibility while keeping the solution scalable and cost-effective. Backtrace.io also cited Circonus’s metrics-based pricing as significantly more economical than node-based alternatives, especially for monitoring 20 to 30 C-based nodes.
