Toss speeds dev and cuts hours of testing time

Toss, the South Korea-based mobile financial service platform from Viva Republica, needed a faster way to test and deploy code across more than 200 independently built services and a very large code repository. Its developers wanted to maintain high coding standards and support frequent releases, but Jenkins made parallel testing difficult and slow, creating a major bottleneck. Toss turned to CircleCI for a CI/CD solution.

CircleCI implemented parallelism, test splitting, and scalable concurrency, along with features like open-source Docker images, orbs, customizable compute, and caching. As a result, Toss reduced testing and deployment time from as long as 15–20 minutes, and in some cases 2–3 hours, to about 2 minutes, enabling 40–50 deployments a day and around 70 production deploys daily.
