SolarWinds builds security into design with CircleCI

SolarWinds, a leading provider of observability and IT management software, wanted to strengthen security without slowing down development for its SolarWinds Observability product. Using CircleCI, the company faced the challenge of helping distributed engineering teams move quickly while maintaining high code quality and meeting strict internal security controls.

To address this, SolarWinds used CircleCI self-hosted runners and private orbs to build secure code-signing and verification processes, standardize engineering practices, and integrate smoothly with GitHub. With CircleCI, SolarWinds improved trust in its CI/CD pipelines, enabled cryptographic verification from an internally controlled environment, and gained better workflow visibility through the Insights dashboard to troubleshoot and optimize builds more efficiently.
