Rollbar, an error tracking and monitoring software company for developers, was in the middle of a technical pivot from a legacy monolith to microservices and also wanted to move from Python 2 to Python 3. The team needed to improve observability, cut long build times, and speed up delivery while maintaining strong SLAs for customers. Rollbar used CircleCI for CI/CD to support this shift.

CircleCI helped Rollbar enable Docker layer caching and parallel test execution, which cut build time by 50% and reduced the main container build from 40 minutes to as little as 16–20 minutes, sometimes eight. As a result, Rollbar saved about 2,000 hours of developer time in six months, shortened fix turnaround by 50% or more, and improved its ability to ship features and recover SLA performance faster.
