Pantheon is a website management platform that helps developers build, launch, and run large Drupal and WordPress sites. Because users rely on Pantheon’s repositories to work with their sites, Pantheon engineers needed to validate sporadic security updates and new framework releases without pulling developers off high-value work — a process that previously required lengthy smoke tests and could take up to eight hours.

By adopting CircleCI, Pantheon automated testing of WordPress and Drupal commits against their platform, with the ability to SSH into test containers for fast debugging. The automation ensures new releases are safe for customers, cuts Drupal test times from eight hours to two, and lets Pantheon deliver updates and features to users much more quickly.
