How Sony Japan Continuously Deploys Microservices Built with Go and Docker in Minutes

Sony Japan faced a challenge with its outdated, manual software deployment process that involved spreadsheet instructions and could take up to four days to complete. This slow method was a significant hurdle for developing modern applications. To build its Next Generation Core (NG-Core) platform, the team needed a faster and more reliable continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) solution from a vendor like CircleCI.

Using CircleCI, the team automated its entire CI/CD pipeline. The solution built and tested Go-based microservices packaged in Docker containers, enabling deployments to AWS that took approximately 20 minutes instead of days. This resulted in a fully automated, immutable infrastructure process for CircleCI's customer, allowing for more frequent deployments and greater development velocity.
