Case Study: University of Manchester empowers staff to support student mental health with CIPHR eLearning

A CIPHR Case Study

University of Manchester scales student mental health training for 12,000 staff with CIPHR

CIPHR worked with the University of Manchester to address the challenge of scaling mental health training for its 12,000 staff members. The university needed a way to raise awareness and skills across all roles to better support student mental health, supplementing limited face-to-face workshops to ensure staff could identify and respond to students at risk.

The solution was an online eLearning course developed by CIPHR's Marshalls team, featuring illustrative videos filmed on campus. This scalable course empowered university staff across all departments to learn key skills for managing student mental health conversations. As a result, the University of Manchester can now provide consistent, wide-reaching training, forming a key part of its support suite to help ensure students do not slip through the gaps.
