A CIPHR Case Study
CIPHR collaborated with Swansea University to address a challenge in student welfare. The university identified that its existing resources lacked honest information about the difficulties of transitioning to university life, leaving some students unprepared. Additionally, the welfare team was receiving increasing calls from concerned parents and guardians who also struggled with the change. Swansea University sought to create accessible and engaging eLearning resources to better support both groups.
The solution involved CIPHR developing two bespoke eLearning modules: "Hapus: The Student Life Toolkit" for students and "Hapus: A guide for parents, partners and guardians." Created in partnership with the university and a mental health service, these courses covered topics like managing stress, loneliness, and how families can offer support. Since launch, over 600 students have enrolled, reporting positive feedback about feeling recognised and supported. CIPHR's work also received positive anecdotal praise from parents, and the partnership is now focused on translating the modules to further enhance accessibility.
