Sova is a UK charity founded in 1975 that helps people in England and Wales steer clear of crime and rebuild their lives. Facing an ageing HR system that could not deliver the timely management information, flexible contract and work-pattern handling, self-service, automated alerts or mobile access the organisation needed, Head of HR June Graham led a search for a replacement to support fast, accurate reporting and reduce manual administration.
Sova implemented CIPHR, using the data transfer as a housekeeping exercise to capture accurate sickness, contract and continuity records, configure end dates for varied contracts and enable employee/manager self‑service. Automated notifications and document generation have cut administrative burden, improved DBS and reference tracking, and delivered real‑time MI—allowing HR to stop firefighting, make accurate redundancy calculations and provide strategic insights to the board.
