Royal Russell School, an independent day and boarding school in south London with more than 1,000 pupils and around 370 staff, faced HR processes built on filing cabinets, paper and spreadsheets. Wanting a culture change and an easy-to-use system accessible to all employees, the school selected CIPHR for its strong support, customisation and approachability.
Implemented in 2017–18 with thorough training and ongoing support, CIPHR introduced automated notifications for tasks like probation reviews, powerful reporting (including sickness and Bradford factor analysis) and a seamless payroll link with PBS for customised payslips and faster data transfer. The result was streamlined HR and payroll workflows, time savings, better manager engagement with HR tasks and wider staff self-service—useful during remote working.
