Newcastle University sought to make equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) a core institutional value through mandatory training for all staff, moving beyond basic compliance. To meet this challenge, they partnered with vendor Ciphr, specifically its Ciphr eLearning service, to develop a bespoke and engaging training programme tailored to the university's unique environment.
The solution implemented by Ciphr was a fully accessible, custom EDI training programme designed in collaboration with the university. It features diverse voices and relatable scenarios to ensure broad engagement and understanding. As a result, Newcastle University has set a benchmark for other institutions with a dynamic course that equips staff to confidently foster an inclusive environment, with hopes that other universities will adopt the comprehensive programme.
