Manchester Metropolitan University launches OfS-compliant disclosure training with CIPHR

Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) faced the challenge of meeting new Office for Students (OfS) expectations for training staff on handling student disclosures of harassment and misconduct. The university needed to create a comprehensive and compliant eLearning module that combined guidance on both racial incidents and sexual harassment. To address this, MMU partnered with CIPHR to develop a bespoke solution.

CIPHR combined its off-the-shelf module on racial incidents with a bespoke module on sexual harassment to create a single, cohesive course titled 'Disclosure by students'. This solution provided MMU staff with the necessary training to confidently and appropriately respond to student disclosures, ensuring full compliance with OfS guidelines. The successful collaboration resulted in an informative and engaging eLearning module that was launched to all university staff.
