Lifetime Training, one of the UK’s largest apprenticeship providers with around 1,200 staff and 20,000 learners a year, was hampered by a clunky HR system that lacked self-service, learning and development integration, reliable reporting, and seamless links to recruitment and payroll. The HR team needed an engaging, user-friendly HCM that could support remote field-based staff, improve onboarding for roughly 200 new hires a year, deliver a single central record for Ofsted compliance, and give better people insights to drive talent and performance conversations.
Lifetime implemented Ciphr Connect (Ciphr HR and Ciphr LMS), branded internally as “Milo,” and integrated it with their ATS and payroll. The platform automated onboarding and admin workflows, centralized safeguarding and case records, and unlocked richer reporting and analytics. Results included major time savings (monthly payroll checks cut from a full day to a few hours), automated new-starter processes, 95% appraisal completion via the system, a 10% increase in perceived personal growth, smoother safeguarding audits, and stronger manager-led career conversations.
