CIPHR partners with the Natural History Museum to develop the functionality of its HR software platform

The Natural History Museum in London, with a complex workforce that includes employees, volunteers, students, agency staff and scientific associates, needed a single, flexible HR platform to manage people data and support workforce processes. After years of custom on‑prem development and the loss of in‑house IT resource, the Museum faced the challenge of moving to a supported SaaS solution while retaining the specific functionality and integrations it relied on.

CIPHR partnered with the Museum to migrate to CIPHR SaaS and evolve the platform, adding integrations (Active Directory, estate management, Symplectics), tools such as CIPHR Notifications, Decisions, iRecruit and SQL Views, and previously developed security, H&S and total‑rewards features. The result is a seamless, centrally managed HR system covering around 2,000 active records (including roughly 800 employees), improved reporting and manager decision‑making, and ongoing joint development and support that preserves the Museum’s flexibility to select best‑of‑breed solutions.
